Welcome to the White horse café, we are a traditional fish and chip take away and restaurant at Thirsk, At the White Horse we pride ourselves on quality and affordable food and have done since 1982.
Both shops are named after the famous landmark at Kilburn, near Thirsk. The Almond family have been in the business for the last 37 years and their attention to quality, service and value has created a local reputation.
Ken and Mary Almond started the Thirsk branch in 1982 , as the years went by both their children, Andrea and David joined the firm and worked to take the business forward.The view of queueing customers snaking out of the doors on busy weekends has become a common sight.
In the last few years both outlets have been treated to complete new refits to a very high standard giving them a totally fresh and modern new look.
It is our aim to keep high standards within the business, using only the best raw materials and up to date equipment available, to ensure the best possible product to our valued customers.
